Qld: Boeing building for sale in $24-million scam
An unemployed man's appeared in court over a scam in which he and three friends allegedly
tried to sell the Boeing building in Brisbane for $24 million.
Twenty-two-year-old RONALD VIKASH GANDER of Petrie, on Brisbane's northern outskirts,
has faced Brisbane Magistrates Court on a raft of fraud-related charges.
It's alleged GANDER and three accomplices advertised and negotiated with a real estate
agent and a financial broker about the sale of the CBD tower this month.
Brisbane-based North West Finance Brokers agreed to provide finance for the deal and
become joint partners with another buyer.
But the plan went awry when the broker noticed the registered owners of the building
were not the same as the seller and called the police.
Fijian-born GANDER has been granted bail and will reappear on December the 22nd.
One of his three co-accused will appear on the same day while the other two will appear
on January the 20th.
The other alleged offenders are a 30-year-old man from Deception Bay, a 27-year-old
man from Petrie, and a 20-year-old woman from The Gap.
