ALBANY -- Joan Benoit-Samuelson had plenty of good reasons to run fast Saturday in the Freihofer's Run for Women.
There was that $1,500 first-place check for winning the masters division, plus the fact that this was her first truly competitive race since the Chicago Marathon last fall. But perhaps the biggest reason was that she was due to cook supper at home, in Freeport, Maine, about a four-hour car ride from Albany.
``I've got a lot of relatives at my house waiting for me,'' Benoit-Samuelson said.
